Wendy Mass's books are available for pre-order! Orders are due Friday, May 13 (but I can take them on Monday if necessary.) Any books that are pre-ordered will be signed by Ms. Mass and will be delivered to students on the day of her visit, May 31. Click here for an order form. I hope everyone had fun at the book fair and was able to get awesome books. We were able to add over $600 worth of new books to the library from the book fair! Thank you to everyone who helped support the Spring Book Fair!
The spring book fair will kick off at Literacy Night on Thursday, April 28th! We hope many families will be there to celebrate Literacy Night and check out the awesome book fair. Students will come to the book fair with their classes between April 29-May 5. Come check out some of the amazing books we'll have to read all summer long! Students in grades 4-6 and their parents are invited to come to The Hollow’s Literacy Night, Thursday, April 28 6:30-8:45

Did you know that you could compete....with books? This year, Lounsberry Hollow will be taking part in the Battle of the Books! Teams of 5 students will each read 15 books and then compete to see who remembers what happens in each. Practice battles will happen once a month from January to May, with the top 2 5th and 6th grade teams going on to compete in the inter-district competition in June. Monday Jan 11 was Morse Code day in the library. Students had copies of the international Morse Code and created their names. Here are a few snapshots!
There are lots of great things happening in the library this month! On each of these days, we will be doing fun activities in the library during lunches.
Jan 8- Love Your Librarian Day Jan 11- Learn Your Name In Morse Code Day Jan 13-Create A Library Day Jan 15- Winnie the Pooh Day Jan 19- 3D Printer Creation Workshop after school Jan 19- Principal Book Club at 7pm Jan 22- Compliment Day Jan 29- Puzzle Day The 3-D Printers are working! Many of you have been eagerly awaiting the 3D Printers, and now they are ready to go! Students who would like to use the 3D printers can get the Project Ignite app on their Chromebooks and join the class! There are a few steps to this process, and directions are posted in the library. Come be creative! |
