Did you know that you could compete....with books? This year, Lounsberry Hollow will be taking part in the Battle of the Books! Teams of 5 students will each read 15 books and then compete to see who remembers what happens in each. Practice battles will happen once a month from January to May, with the top 2 5th and 6th grade teams going on to compete in the inter-district competition in June. Monday Jan 11 was Morse Code day in the library. Students had copies of the international Morse Code and created their names. Here are a few snapshots!
There are lots of great things happening in the library this month! On each of these days, we will be doing fun activities in the library during lunches.
Jan 8- Love Your Librarian Day Jan 11- Learn Your Name In Morse Code Day Jan 13-Create A Library Day Jan 15- Winnie the Pooh Day Jan 19- 3D Printer Creation Workshop after school Jan 19- Principal Book Club at 7pm Jan 22- Compliment Day Jan 29- Puzzle Day The 3-D Printers are working! Many of you have been eagerly awaiting the 3D Printers, and now they are ready to go! Students who would like to use the 3D printers can get the Project Ignite app on their Chromebooks and join the class! There are a few steps to this process, and directions are posted in the library. Come be creative! December was a busy month in the library! Students were working hard to create their own stop-motion animation videos with the LEGO Movie App on our iPads. Over the course of the week, many students created their own videos, and a few are highlighted below. |
